Today Princess Madeleine of Sweden married her prince, the American banker Chris O'Neill. And altough I really should be studying I couldn't resist sharing the pictures with you :)
Princess Madelein actually was engaged to Jonas Bergström a couple of years ago, but the dude was stupid enough to cheat on her. A PRINCESS now I think he regrets its BIG TIME. I actually think he's way cuter than her now husband, go see for yourself
here. But anyway, she fled to the US and fell in love with Chris and the rest is history. Or so their fairytale.
And now: pictures!
I DID IT!!!! I married a princess!!!
I'm sure many of you are thinking these exact words when seeing this picutre.
BUT!
Chris O'Neill certainly didn't have to marry Madeleine to live wealthy and not doing anything for the rest of his life. First of all he is a very succesful businessman in NY. He was offered a Swedish title but politely declined as it would mean he would have to obtain the Swedish nationality and it would also mean he wouldn't be allowed to work anymore. I actually think that's really admirable of the guy! I would never refuse if I was offered a title :p
Madeline wore a Valentino dress with a long train - really princess worthy. And of course some bling (she is that kind of princess, but it suits her well).
They are really cute together, right? And I noticed he didn't seem to have stress at all (well at least in the pictures, I didn't look on tv, I was too busy watching Serena kick Maria Sharapova's ass :D), unlike so many other princesses/princes on their wedding day (remember Charlène or Stéphanie of Luxembourg, they just looked all the time like they wanted to run away). But maybe because she is second in line and there is less protocol and 'important people' attending they were more relaxed, who will tell? He couldn't stop kissing her AND. THEY. ARE. SO. CUTE
Princess Estelle, the daughter of Victoria and Daniel is following the ceremony on her little throne. Well that's a Queen in the making if you ask me! Daniel looks so relaxed, the opposite of on his own wedding day. I guess one becomes used to being a prince and being in these fancy ceremonies all the time?
Haakon and Mette-Marit of Norway (who wore a flattering gown for once, remember
this dress from the coronation of Willem-Alexander of the Netherlands?)
Marie-Chantal of Greece, who has an IMPECCABLE style. I really should do a post about her because she is by far the best dressed princess of Europe (it's a tie with Charlotte Casiraghi). Tell me you know someone who looks more gracious than she does?!
Mary of Denmark
Mother and brother of the Bride (Allright Sylvia, enough with the botox and facelifts!!!!!!!! - Or maybe go see another doctor)
Victoria wore Elie Saab I think, and looked absolutely gorgeous
Marie and Joachim of Danemark.
Charlène of Monaco. NOW WHERE IS ALBERTOO? And while it is her belly that is supposed to be growing (they've been married two years, they should have two kids by now - or so say the people from Monaco) only her lips are inflating...
Newest princess Stéphanie of Luxembourg. I love the idea of this gown, but somehow (to me) te colour is somewhat off with her skintone... Do you agree?
And of course... TADAAAAAAAAAA probably the next royal bride in Sweden, this is Sofia Hellqvist, long time girlfriend of Carl-Philip. She is already practicing since she decided to wear a white gown (isn't that NOT DONE on weddings? Or was she just giving her inner Pippa Middleton a shoutout?)
The evening before there was a dinner, here some pictures of my favourite (and thus the best) outfits
Madeleine wore this gorgeous dress by Elie Saab - really the European Royalty's favourite the lately
King and Queen. Though he is surrounded with cheating scandals they still manage to smile, applause. And I kind of like this outfit - if you're a queen and 65 years old that is. Well done, Sylvia.
Marie Chantal in a dashing (I think) Dior gown. I'm really going to do a post about her soon, she more than deserves it. Minus: her shoes are way too big! Maybe these were the last Louboutin's in here size? But they are stunning nevertheless.
Stéphanie of Luxembourg. Again, a great gown but there is something off about the colour... It's just too sad for a wedding, don't you agree?
Tatiana and Nikolas of Greece. I really should do a post about her too, another Greek princess with great style.
Victoria in Jenny Packham
All my congratulations to the newlyweds, and I'm sure they are going on an amazing honeymoon somewhere very tropical :)
And you can expect more royalty very soon! Marie-Chantal
